From two weeks to one: How Crawford Memorial Hospital transformed month-end close
Month-end close reduced from two weeks to one
50% improvement in reporting speed and accuracy
Real-time access to revenue and operational metrics
Paperless AP workflows replacing manual approvals
Consistent, drill-down visibility from GL to invoice
Turning a time-consuming close into a data-driven advantage
For small rural hospitals, closing the books can feel like running a marathon every month. At Crawford Memorial Hospital (CMH) in Robinson, Illinois, the process once took two full weeks — leaving little time for analysis or improvement before the next cycle began.
Finance Director Michael Cheesman knew the team needed a faster, more connected way to manage financials. After a long search, CMH found its answer in Multiview ERP, built for healthcare’s complexity and integrated with the hospital’s new Oracle Health (formerly Cerner) environment.

“Before Multiview, we had to wait until after month-end was done to even start reporting. Now, we can access valuable insights at any point in the month,” said Cheesman.
Finding stability through smarter systems
When CMH decided to move to Oracle Health for its EHR, the finance team began evaluating ERP options that could deliver real-time data and seamless integration. Multiview stood out immediately.
Its ability to interface daily with both Oracle Health and ADP, along with advanced reporting and a modern user experience, offered what legacy systems couldn’t — visibility, speed, and control.
After more than two years of searching, Cheesman’s team implemented Multiview, connecting approximately 60 employees across finance and departmental operations. From accounts payable to fixed assets and journal entries, Multiview became the single source of truth for financial management at Crawford Memorial.
Real-time data that changed the close
Before implementing Multiview, CMH’s month-end process was entirely manual — multiple spreadsheets, delayed reports, and days of waiting for the data needed to start closing the books.
Now, the team completes its close in just one week, a 50 percent improvement.
The difference came from real-time integration and the ability to drill into live data directly from the general ledger, replacing static Excel reports with dynamic dashboards and pivot tables. Key performance metrics such as AP days, gross AR days, and operating margin are now visible in seconds, not days.
“Multiview’s customizable reporting ties directly to the GL. I can drill into a specific scanned invoice or journal entry and trust that the numbers all connect,” Cheesman said.
This level of transparency has redefined how CMH measures success. The finance team can now view key indicators throughout the month, proactively identify issues, and provide leadership with up-to-date financial performance data.
Empowering a small team with big capability
With a lean team of three, efficiency is everything. Multiview’s automated AP workflows have eliminated the need for paper approvals, freeing time for higher-value work. Each department head can review and approve invoices electronically, increasing accountability and reducing bottlenecks.
The ability to track daily revenue through Oracle Health integrations has also elevated collaboration across departments. Finance, operations, and clinical leaders can discuss financial results using the same consistent data set — a major shift from the fragmented view they once had.
CMH is now working toward even greater automation, including plans to integrate accounts receivable and generate board-ready statistical reports directly from Multiview.
