Turning underused tools into operational intelligence

When Theresa Tabor joined Family Health West (FHW) as CFO, she inherited a familiar challenge. The right systems were in place, but the value was not being realized.

The Colorado based critical access hospital had implemented Multiview ERP nearly a decade earlier, yet reporting still ran through accounting, managers relied on static spreadsheets, and clinical and financial data remained siloed.

“Every answer went through accounting,” Tabor said. “Decisions were delayed, and we simply could not move fast enough.”

To change that, FHW needed clearer visibility, a cleaner financial structure, and a way to turn information into shared accountability.

Simplifying the structure to accelerate insight

Tabor began by modernizing the chart of accounts. More than 3,300 accounts made meaningful variance analysis nearly impossible. By restructuring to about 800 accounts using Multiview’s RAD model, the team eliminated noise and established a cleaner reporting foundation.

The improvements were immediate.

  • Month-end close dropped from 60 days to 15.
  • Automated workflows streamlined reconciliations, payroll accruals, and recurring reports.
  • Dashboards and real-time Multiview tools replaced dozens of Excel files.

The most transformative shift came from modernizing how FHW monitored operational volumes and revenue.

Using Multiview’s stats reporting and ViewSource360 to illuminate performance

As the team upgraded its reporting workflows, one Multiview stats report became the cornerstone of operational change. The report brings together actual and budgeted volumes, actual and budgeted revenue, and other critical operational metrics in a single, unified view.

ViewSource360 is what makes the report powerful. It allows FHW to pull volume data directly from their Epic EHR on a frequent basis. The numbers are timely, trusted, and consistent, and leaders no longer have to wait for someone to gather or reconcile data. The information is ready the moment they need it.

This visibility extends beyond clinical operations. Marketing can react to volume shifts. Housekeeping and dietary can adjust staffing and supplies. Leaders across service lines can see how changes in one department influence others, using the same reliable data.

Empowering every manager to own the numbers

The cultural shift at FHW has become just as significant as the operational improvements.

Department managers now build their own budgets, review invoices, and track performance directly in Multiview. The stats report provides the context, and the data flowing through ViewSource360 ensures that context is real time and accurate.

Recently, a newly promoted vice president prepared for a meeting with the Respiratory Therapy team using Multiview mini P&Ls. He reviewed revenue, salaries, volumes, and FTE ratios side by side and showed the manager how to access and interpret the information for future decisions.

“That is the culture change I was hoping for,” Tabor said. “Leaders are not waiting for finance anymore. They are owning the results.”
