How Community Hospital - Fairfax Modernized Its Finance Operations with Multiview and TruBridge

Community Hospital Fairfax and Multiview

Community Hospital - Fairfax in Missouri may be a small rural facility, but its approach to financial management is anything but outdated. We spoke with Jon Davis, Chief Financial Officer, about his recent implementation of Multiview ERP via the TruBridge partnership, and how the move is already helping him cut his month-end close time in half, improve visibility, and reduce his reliance on spreadsheets.

Q: What initially made you consider Multiview?

I first learned about Multiview at the TruBridge National Client Conference last year. TruBridge had announced their partnership with Multiview, and I was intrigued. I had been doing a lot of my financial work in Excel and Microsoft Access, which worked but wasn’t sustainable long-term, especially for future hires. What really won me over was the flexibility of Multiview’s accounting structure. I love that I can simplify the chart of accounts without losing the ability to slice and dice data the way I need to.

Q: How would you rate the implementation process with Multiview?

I’d give it a solid 10. Every module had an experienced implementation lead who clearly knew the system and how to tailor it to our needs. As a very lean team — just myself, one AP person, and one materials staff — I appreciated how structured the process was. It didn’t require much extra time from us, and the Multiview team did a lot of the heavy lifting when it came to formatting and data migration.

Q: What modules have you implemented so far?

We’ve implemented core accounting, materials management, budgeting, financial reporting, and bank reconciliation. We were able to import our existing budget and get financial statements configured quickly. Everything is up and running, and it’s working beautifully — even with some of the simplifications we made to keep the project manageable at our size.

Q: You mentioned being excited to ditch workarounds — can you expand on that?

Sure. One of our longstanding goals was to deliver department-level financial statements to our directors. Before, I had to manually build and maintain those in Excel. With Multiview, I’ve already reached that milestone. Now I can give directors the data they need, in formats tailored for them — no more printing or hand-distribution.

Another major time saver is drill-down capability. If someone has a question, they can dig into the data themselves, right down to the invoice or patient level, without needing to email me to run a report.

Q: What kind of time savings are you seeing so far?

Even after just one month live, I anticipate we're already cutting our month-end close timeline down by half. We’re aiming to close within 2–3 days of month-end now. The bank reconciliation module is especially helpful, I can clear daily transactions in real time, rather than doing everything in a batch at month-end. I’ve also built recurring templates that make it fast and easy to post regularly.

Q: What are some of the biggest improvements over your previous tools?

The integration between accounts payable and materials management gives us the visibility and control we were missing before. Previously, our systems didn’t talk to each other, so inventory didn’t always align with the GL. Now it matches to the penny — in real time. Plus, our AP person, who’s been here for decades, is impressed with how modern and intuitive the new system is. That’s important because as we bring new people onto the team, we need software that sets them up to hit the ground running.

Q: What advice would you give to other TruBridge hospitals considering Multiview?

Don’t wait. If you want to move forward with your financial operations, Multiview gives you the tools to do that — affordably and without sacrificing functionality, and with a great interface with the TruBridge EMR.

The move takes effort, but the outcome speaks for itself. Multiview delivers the kind of functionality and support that’s hard to find elsewhere, especially for smaller hospitals like ours. The overall value — from functionality to responsiveness and the partnership with TruBridge — far exceeds other options we considered.

And it’s not just about my current needs. I’m thinking about the next generation of finance professionals. With Multiview, we have a system that’s modern, easy to learn, and built to scale with us.

Q: Any final thoughts?

It’s been an incredibly positive experience. The functionality is robust, the support team is responsive, and it’s clear that this system was designed with financial professionals in mind. For a small hospital like ours, Multiview makes it possible to operate with the same level of sophistication as larger systems, without needing a large team to support it.
